As of 2026, Amazon and Flipkart charge 0% commission on most products under ₹1,000: Amazon India has zero referral fees on sub-₹1,000 products across 1,800+ categories (since March 2026; 2–38% by category above that), and Flipkart has zero commission on sub-₹1,000 products (since November 2025) plus 0% on all fashion products at any price (since July 2026). Meesho goes furthest — 0% commission on every category at every price. The other fees still apply: Amazon charges a closing fee by price band and fulfilment method and weight-handling or FBA fees on the chargeable weight, with no separate payment collection fee. Flipkart charges a fixed fee by price slab and seller tier (Bronze to Platinum), zone-based shipping (local, zonal, national) and a payment collection fee on prepaid and COD orders. Meesho deducts zone-based shipping (billed per 500g on chargeable weight) and a small per-order platform fee from your settlement, with no collection fee on prepaid or COD. All three add 18% GST on all fees — so zero commission does not mean zero fees. Which is cheaper depends on your category, price and weight — run the same product through the calculators and compare net profit.
Returns and RTO can wipe out the profit of several orders — you lose reverse shipping, the outbound shipping you already paid, packaging and sometimes the product itself. Couriers bill on the higher of actual and volumetric weight (L × W × H ÷ 5000), so bulky-but-light products cost more to ship than expected. 18% GST applies on every marketplace fee. And your break-even price is the floor below which every sale loses money. Every calculator accounts for all of this — including a dedicated Returns / RTO tab and PDF / Excel export.
