Does Meesho really charge 0% commission in 2026?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Meesho has run a 0% commission model since 2021 and it still applies in 2026 across categories — there is no referral or category commission and no closing fee on standard listings. This is Meesho's biggest advantage for low-margin, low-ticket sellers. This calculator keeps commission at 0% by default, but the editable category table lets you set a commission if Meesho ever introduces one for a specific category.

What fees do you actually pay to sell on Meesho?

With commission at 0%, the real costs are: a small per-order platform (fixed) fee, a weight- and zone-based shipping fee, and 18% GST charged on those fees. Meesho then collects TDS (0.1%) and TCS (0.5%) at settlement — both recoverable against your tax returns. Crucially, there is NO collection / payment-gateway fee on prepaid or COD orders, unlike Amazon and Flipkart.

The platform (fixed) fee is a small per-delivered-order charge widely reported at ₹25–₹30 in 2026 seller panels, and some accounts still show ₹0 because Meesho embeds it in the logistics margin. This calculator defaults to ₹25 for orders up to ₹500 and ₹30 above that, but the exact figure varies by account — check your Supplier Panel and update the editable fee table to match.

How is Meesho shipping calculated, and what is volumetric weight?

Shipping is charged on your chargeable weight — the higher of the actual (dead) weight and the volumetric weight (L × W × H ÷ 5000) — banded in 500g blocks and priced by zone (Local, Zonal or National). Meesho has no free-shipping allowance, so charging starts from the first gram. Light but bulky parcels get billed on volume, so tighter packaging directly lowers your shipping fee.

How much does a return cost on Meesho — is RTO free?

It depends on the return type. An RTO (failed or refused delivery) is FREE on Meesho — no forward and no reverse shipping is charged, so your only loss is packaging and any product damage. A customer return after delivery (DTO) is different: the forward shipping you already paid is sunk and a weight-based reverse pickup fee applies, typically landing around ₹140–₹180 including GST. Does Meesho charge a COD or payment-gateway fee?

No. Meesho does not charge a collection or payment-gateway fee on either prepaid or Cash-on-Delivery orders. Because COD makes up the majority of Meesho orders, this is a meaningful saving versus marketplaces that levy ~2–2.5% collection fees on COD.

What are GST, TCS and TDS on Meesho and are they recoverable?

Meesho adds 18% GST on its platform and shipping fees — GST-registered sellers reclaim this as input tax credit (ITC). At settlement Meesho also deducts TDS at 0.1% (Income Tax §194-O) and collects TCS at 0.5% (GST §52) on your sales. Both TDS and TCS are adjustable/refundable against your tax returns, so this calculator shows them separately and excludes them from net profit.

Meesho settles seller payments on a roughly 7-day cycle after delivery (for accounts on the standard payment cycle), crediting the net amount after shipping, platform fee, GST, TDS and TCS directly to your bank account. Faster settlement improves your working-capital cycle compared with longer 15-day cycles elsewhere.

What penalties can reduce a Meesho seller's payout?

Beyond the standard fees, Meesho can apply penalties for operational lapses — for example a late-dispatch penalty (commonly around ₹50 per order) if you miss the ready-to-ship SLA, and a cancellation penalty (around ₹25) for seller-side cancellations. Maintaining a high on-time dispatch rate and low cancellation rate keeps these out of your settlement.
