What fees does Flipkart charge sellers?

Flipkart charges a category-wise commission fee (a % of the item price), a fixed (closing) fee that varies by price slab, fulfilment method and seller tier, a weight-based shipping fee that depends on the delivery zone and chargeable weight, a collection (payment gateway) fee on the order value, optional FBF pick-&-pack and storage fees, and 18% GST on all of these fees. TDS and TCS are also collected but are recoverable against your tax returns.

Does Flipkart charge zero commission on low-priced products?

Yes. On most categories Flipkart charges 0% commission on products priced up to ₹1,000, and the standard category commission only applies above that threshold. Flipkart Fashion goes further — apparel, ethnic wear, footwear and fashion accessories are 0% commission at every price point since July 2026. This calculator applies commission tiers by selling-price slab, so low-value items are handled correctly — you can edit the slabs to match Flipkart's current schedule.

How is the collection fee different for COD and prepaid orders?

The collection (payment gateway) fee is charged on the full order value. For prepaid orders it is a flat percentage, while for Cash-on-Delivery (COD) orders it is a flat rupee amount up to a threshold order value and a percentage above it. COD orders therefore usually carry a higher collection cost, which this calculator factors in automatically.

How is the Flipkart shipping fee calculated?

Shipping is billed on the chargeable weight — the higher of the actual (dead) weight and the volumetric weight (L × W × H ÷ 5000). The rate depends on the delivery zone: Local (same city), Zonal (same region) or National (across India). Each zone ships free up to a small weight, then charges for the first 500g block plus each additional 500g block. Entering accurate dimensions gives a more realistic fee.

How much does a return actually cost a Flipkart seller?

A return is rarely 'free'. Use the Returns / RTO tab above to add it up: you still lose the reverse-logistics (return) shipping, the outbound shipping you already paid, your packaging, and — if the item comes back damaged or unsellable — the full cost of the product. The tool estimates reverse shipping as a multiple of the forward shipping cost.
